Carter Center programs are directed by resident experts, who design and implement activities in cooperation with Carter Center leadership, networks of world leaders, other nongovernmental organizations, and partners in the United States and abroad. Program directors have extensive experience in international affairs, public or government service, and/or academe. There are approximately 250 employees at the Atlanta headquarters and thousands more in field offices around the world. Headquarter's staff are all Emory University employees.

+How is Carterfunded?

The Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, financed by private donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, and international development assistance agencies. Contributions by U.S. citizens and companies are tax-deductible as allowed by law. All donations of $1,000 or more are published in our annual reports (including audited financial statements), available for download.

+Where is Carterlocated?

Carteris located in a 35-acre park approximately 1.5 miles east of downtown Atlanta. Four circular interconnected pavilions house offices for the former president and first lady and Center staff. The complex also includes the nondenominational Cecil B. Day Chapel and other conference facilities. In addition, the Center also owns the nearby Kirbo Building.

The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, which adjoins Â鶹´«Ã½É«ÇéƬ, is owned and operated by the National Archives and Records Administration of the federal government. The Center and Library are known collectively as The Carter Presidential Center.
